Day three in LA was all consumed by the mecca that is Disneyland. I hadn't walked through the hallowed gates of a Disney establishment in 4 years, last time was Disneyworld when I was living in Savannah. But as for Disneyland proper, I hadn't been there in almost 2 decades, eek!
Despite the hordes of people, I don't believe it to be humanly possible to not have the best day ever while at Disneyland.
There's the food of course. I'd been craving a Dole Whip for the past four years, thank you very much. That craving was satiated early in the day. Then there was the adorable Mickey shaped beignet and the neon green Mint Julep, both delicious in the way that everything has to be while at Disney.
Favorite rides forever and always will be The Haunted Mansion (it so reminds me of Savannah), Pirates of the Caribbean, and Peter Pan's Flight. On this particular day multiple rides were on the fritz, which was rather frustrating. We had to wait an excessively long while for The Haunted Mansion and Splash Mountain while repairs were being made. I'm such a baby when it comes to "scary rides", that I made myself so anxious at the thought of Splash Mountain. But in the end it was far less traumatizing than last time and actually quite fun ultimately.
Being the frugal (i.e. cheap) gals that we are, we went the snap a photo on your iPhone route to document our Splash Mountain experience. While in the midst of doing so, we hear a guy next to us proposing to his teenage seeming girlfriend. If you look closely in the second Splash Mountain photo, you can bear witness to the sign this unoriginal boy held up mid splash. Apparently getting engaged at Disneyland is a thing. It happened at least once more that we observed.
Because only three of our group of five made in to Disney (Marisa and Sidney being the missing links), Sara, Laurie, and I, got creative with our bestie Tattly tattoos.
The final morning of the trip took us to Cafe 101 where we had hopes of a Jon Hamm or Ryan Gosling spotting, no such luck in the end. Though the eggs with lox and caviar were beyond and made up for the celeb free trip to LA. Then it was off to Sprinkles for one last cupcake before barely making our flight. So worth the stress of a possible missed flight, for one final Sprinkles cupcake.
