Illustrator Donald Robertson is kind of a big deal in the fashion scene. Though of late it's for the illustrations he shares with the masses on Instagram, he actually has a rather solid background in the fashion industry. He began his career trajectory as co-founder of Mac Cosmetics, followed by a decade long stint as the creative director of Condé Nast, and is currently the head of creative development of Bobbi Brown.

But it's his captivating illustrations on Instagram, which he often creates in step and repeat form, that has made him a rather a big deal of late.
A snippet from an interview with Scene Magazine explains his process, "Robertson has been showcasing his couture-inspired drawings on Instagram since December 2012. They’re often humorous and sometimes satirical: One depicts the duo behind Proenza Schouler playing cards with a giraffe; another reimagines Anna Wintour as a lamp. He creates three every morning—a gestural sketch, another using gaffer tape from the hardware store (which comes in a “gazillion” colors) and a third in whatever medium he feels like. And it all happens before his 20-minute train ride into Grand Central, to his office at Smashbox Cosmetics in the Estée Lauder headquarters, where he says his job is to “project creativity.”
Do follow him on Instagram, @DonaldDrawbertson, I must insist.
