Sofia Coppola teamed up with Funny or Die on a mock trailer for The Little Mermaid. This isn't as outlandish as you might think, an actual live-action take on The Little Mermaid is in the works with Sofia Coppola at the helm. The parody though is Coppola film-making at its best. Here's hoping Coppola's actual adaption of the Hans Christian Anderson fairy tale takes inspiration from what was meant to be only a spoof. The script is being rewritten by Caroline Thompson of Edward Scissorhands fame, so there's a good chance it'll be a smash of a movie.
It probably comes as no surprise that Ariel is the Disney princess I most identify with. Of course our similarities boil down to our red tresses and that's about it, but that didn't stop me from learning every Ariel song by heart.
