A lot of people have been expressing their displeasure over the lackluster Sochi Olympic games. I for one am of the other camp, I've been thoroughly enjoying this go round. From the Russian Police Choir's performance of Daft Punks "Get Lucky" to the missing ring & from the jaw dropping flexibility of Yulia Lipnitskaia to the absurd competitors attire, I've been eating it all up. Though the highlight of the winter games for me has always and will always be the figure skating.

Of course the clever NY Times deems the box in which the figure skaters, coaches, and teammates await their scores as the "Kiss, Cry, Squeeze In" booth. "Suddenly, figure skating’s moment of high anxiety looks like a competition for most awkward family photo." It's hilarious how on point that description is. The booths are setup in a row, one for each country. Apparently they must be rather close to one another as Russian teen phenom Yulia Lipnitskaia almost very nearly made the faux pas of going into the wrong booth.

Speaking of Yulia Lipnitskaya, the 15 year old prodigy is a dazzling skater and her flexibility is beguiling. Lipnitskaya's is the youngest Olympic Gold medalist in figure skating history.
I absolutely adore the United States figure skater Ashley Wagner, who describes her skating style as sexy with an edge. She clearly wears her emotions on her sleeve, which is appreciated in this age of such stoicism. Ashley broadcasted the facial expression heard around the world, now to be known as #wagnerface while in the "Kiss, Cry, Squeeze In" booth.

Finally, I'll leave you with the Russian Police Choir's rendition of Daft Punks "Get Lucky". Just in time for Valentine's Day.
Well maybe just one final commentary on the missing ring.
