Get your paint on

  Lately I've been getting my DIY fix by heading to the local "paint your own pottery" studio. It's become a bimonthly meeting place for friends who want to get their craft on over tea and scones. Some of the techniques I've tried have turned out surprisingly well (chevron, I'm talking to you), others were a flop (ombre didn't translate), and others are too complicated to replicate again (hello peacock). Clearly soon I'll need to host a dinner party just to make use of my growing collection of platters.
