My time in Savannah went by in the blink of an eye, as it always seems to. Now I'm back home and in the thick of it at work. Savannah weather fluctuated between 70 to 85 degrees during most of my stay. Just what the doctor ordered. I bounced around from one friends darling abode to another, while fitting in a couple of evenings all to myself at The Gastonian. I arrived in Savannah and hit the ground running with barely time to set down my suitcase before we were off to The Sapphire Grill for mojitos + calamari. Despite jet lag I managed to rise in time to catch Pat Conroy, Virginia Willis, and Charles Faudree at the Book Festival at Telfair Square. Then it was an evening spent at Club One taking in Lady Chablis. The next afternoon was brunch at Papillote and shopping Broughton St. Then we were off to the movies... The rest of the trip continued at that pace, with barely a moment to catch my breathe before I was on a plane back home. As I rarely do much beyond work and sleep while sequestered on this little island, I felt as though I packed six months of a social life into 10 days. [snapshot taken on the stoop of the Gastionian]
