J.Crew is the latest company to collaborate with Sperry Top-Siders to produce a metallic version of the iconic boat shoe. They're a true American original and a favorite since their inception in 1935. There's just something about a pair of Top-Siders that makes one think of luxuriously long summer days seaside. Since I'm spending August on the island, I think a pair of Top-Siders would be an appropriate form of footwear for yours truly. Metallic or traditional, either would suit me just fine.
