Friday: Dinner with C at Pearl's Saltwater Grille. An overlooked gem on your way out to Isle of Hope. Situated on one of the many marshes in this area we saw pelicans swoop and yawn while we dined on the freshest seafood. I had the salmon and indecisive me (about what to order at least) was beyond content.
Saturday: Window shopping and drinks with M. New discovery, Papillote French cuisine to go, on Broughton St. Everything looked delicious and I will be going back for a proper meal. But on this visit it was all about the cookies. They have the most brilliant chocolate chip cookies. In part I was probably so taken with them because of the fact that they were still warm from the oven. But still. They were SO delicious. Then on to Circa 1875 for drinks. Circa is a very cozy and beautifully decorated bar. They have several paintings by Katrina Schmidt-Rinke, the artist whose miniature marsh scene I bought at the Telfair art fair. Plus Circa is THE place to get Firefly Sweet Tea vodka on the rocks. It's also where you'll find a lot of neighborhood chefs after their shifts end. Oh and did I mention their incredible bar snacks? Go, I'll see you there.
