August 6th - Back in Savannah. August 10th - A memorable dinner at Local 11 Ten with L., to celebrate my promotion to assistant buyer.
August 18th - Took a crochet class at Wild Fibre. Desperate to make a ripple blanket of my own. Don't believe what you hear. It is far more difficult to learn how to crochet than how to knit. Perhaps a beginner should not have attempted a ripple blanket as her first project.
August 24th - Went with L. to an estate sale down the street at August Coppola's (brother of Francis Ford and father of Nicolas Cage) house. I didn't have the slightest clue who the home belonged to initially, until I overheard people whispering. I bought a few glasses, everything else was out of my price range. Then on to breakfast a J Christopher's.
August 31st - Dinner with coworkers at Carlitos. Got deathly ill and had to bail early.
September 7th - Saw Nanny Diaries with C., way out on the south side of town where one hardly likes to venture.
September 10th - My grandfather passed away.
September 13th - Flew back to Washington for the funeral. While at home found out the knit chain link scarves I submitted to Savannah's Mutation Craft Fair were selected to be part of the fair in November. Good news amidst sadness.
September 19th - Arrived back in Savannah.
September 20th - Dinner at Cha-Bella with coworkers to celebrate J's Birthday. Then went on to Jazz'd until they closed, then on to Jen's and Friends until they closed.
September 21st - Was so hungover, thought I just might perish. Had to work through the pain. Never drinking that much again.
September 23rd - Saw Funny Face at the Lucas Theatre with C. But first, appetizers downstairs at the tavern in The Olde Pink House.
September ?(the exact date eludes me) - Maureen "Marcia Brady" McCormick puts in an appearance at the store. At first glance neither I or my coworkers recognize her. Although we do notice she appears completely xanaxed. So we get to asking her if she's from out of town, as we often interrogate our customers. She tells us she's from Los Angeles. Eventually it comes out that she was in town to be on Paula Deen's "party" show. We're still not recognizing her at this point. One of my coworkers asks if she's a chef. Finally she tells us she's an actress and it all comes together. She looked fabulous by the way, aside from the whole monotone personality. She purchased some bedding and other items then went on her merry way. The next day the rumors start about her fling with her on screen sister Jan...
