I'm in utter denial that the summer is coming to a close. Trying to make the most of these last precious days of the season; picking blackberries, searching for seashells, reading out of doors. But, like Lily says... That shall be my mantra as we head into autumn.
Plum Sykes latest offering (it's about time!), Oxford Girl, debuted in May. It was released only in the form of a kindle single (aka short story or mini memoir). A form that, since I don't possess a kindle, irritated me to no end. That is until I realized I could read it via the kindle app on my iPad. Unfortunately though the single left much to be desired. Not being a fan of the short story format to begin with, it already had one strike against it. But for this being the only writing released outside of the periodical format in 4 years by Plum, I definitely expected more than the lackluster end result. The awkward social reject who blossoms into the "it" girl, we've heard it all before. Pity.
When women support each other, incredible things happen.
This month I'm crushing on
Mr. Pink Rosé And Why Am I Mr Pink Mr Pink Rosé by Underground Wine Project is back for its second vintage. A Collaboration between Mark Ryan Winery and Sleight of Hand Cellars. Bright and fruity, with just a hint of sweetness. The nose has the essence of orange blossoms and nectarines, while the palate shows flavors of watermelon, grapefruit, and strawberry yogurt. Do stock up or be sorry!
